The stock 3IS shift **** looks good, but feels like a cheap piece of plastic to my taste. Lots of Minkara users in Japan fix this problem using **** from GS. And it's really a nice and simple mod!
What we need:
GS F Sport **** part number 33504-30440-C3
GS F Sport boot part number 58808-30200-C2
And a fresh zip tie )
First of all, the boot will remain the same. The only part You'll have to replace will be the plastic clip that connects the boot to the ****, because IS any GS ***** have different connectors. Than't why the whole part from GS still must be purchased. Remove the connecting piece from the boot, install it into IS' one, and then connect to the new shift ****. The fitment is perfect!
Is there a big color delta between the k.n.o.b (i find it hilarious that the board is filtering ****,) and the boot? In your photo, the boot looks almost blue, where the k.n.o.b looks black.
edit: Apparently it only filters out **** when I'm not logged in. Weird.

There is no any significant color difference in person. The quality of leather (artificial) is different, so probably on the photos the colors look slightly different under the flash.
why worry about the boots for both apps? if you buy the ****(s), don't they come w/ the base it connects to? if so, just cut the zip tie that hold the base and replace it w/ the base that comes w/ the ****. if they're separate, can you not buy the base or does it come installed (zip tied) to the boots?

The base that holds the boot to the **** is not sold separately. That is why is necessary to buy the whole shift boot just to get the base piece
ah...thanks for clearing that up! I hate how they did that! we can't get the race dead pedal either because it's part of the interior floor "kit." so was there any confirmation with the rc leather **** being compatible w/ the is base?

you would need the RC-F shift boot as well.
The RC-F shift **** is same shape as the GS Fsport **** but in blue/white stitching
The base inside the boot is the same with the RC-F and GS Fsport but the boot itself is different.
The RC350 got the same ugly **** and shift boot the IS250/350 received.
