Default Adding extra weather strip on the car

Today finally received my 4GS rear door weather strips which can be installed on our car, I think the car should have come with that additional weather strips to prevent dust and water. The length of the weather strip is a perfect fit for our rear doors even though it's a GS part but fit perfectly. Anyways, here is the result of the weather strip. It's not noticeable with the doors closed, if anyone would like pics with the doors closed, I will take more pics.

In case you want to know the part# on Sewell, here is the part# and the price.

A great addition for our cars, should have been installed from the factory. Very useful for muddy road conditions (our roads are very dirty, especially in winter)!

How did you find out the GS weather strip will fit before you bought it? It looks perfect. I'd like to see a picture with the door closes. Thanks.

I like them! I wonder if they'll keep water away from entering this area and freezing in between doors?? Pls post pictures of doors shut

Great and practical mod. Just like what another person said, there were some people from MinKara Carview of Japan that did this mod before.

In fact, I find this weather trip mod has been common on other Lexus vehicles on MinKara as well, including the last gen IS.

However, you are the first one in North America that posts the result. Great job! Only the cost is doubled for what the owners in Japan are paying..but it is still affordable and it is a mod that can be enjoyed every day.

For those who is looking for a picture with the weather strip and the doors closed on 3IS, here you go..

http://minkara.carview.co.jp/userid/...968/parts.aspx

Another mod that is related to this but less practical and less common is the weather strip (partial) between rear door and the rear quarter panel.

http://minkara.carview.co.jp/userid/...548/parts.aspx

But the aesthetic is less appealing and not as useful as the weather strip between the front and rear door. This part is from Toyota Century, a JDM model.

Mind my dirty car, it's Vancouver (AKA Raincouver), don't have the chance to give her a wash, but here is the result...its not even noticeable when you have the door closed...
