Default Are F-Sport brake calipers too big for 17" wheels?

To continue with my winter setup questions... I've been told by an online dealer that 17" wasn't recommended for my 3IS without stating a reason (even though their website states the setup works). I'm wondering : anybody got 17" for winter? I'm heading to the dealership tomorrow to ask.

I know for instance my wife's M-Sport brake calipers are too big for 17" wheels (she has 19" stock).

Thanks!

ultimately rim design is the main determinant point, although width and offset are very important factors as well. TireRack is generally a great reference as they guarantee the wheel setup will not cause an issue if they've listed fit for your vehicle. I run 17x8 +35mm for winter on my AWD FSport perfectly fine.
Good Luck!

I'm running 17s and getting them installed tomorrow. Will report back after that's done. I did a test fit and they seemed ok

JCWong I'm also looking at 17x8 and 35. I see a 11mm positive difference at the front with a wheel offset calculator. No rubbing?

If you look at the PDF instruction manual for installing them, Right in the first page is says OE 17 will not fit

Conflicts
17 in. OE Wheels will not fit. No conflicts with 18 in. OE,
Lexus Genuine Accessory and F-Sport Wheels.
CAUTION: If the OE wheels are not used, then see the
brake caliper template shown as the last page of these
instructions. The brake caliper template must be used to
ensure there is adequate clearance between new brake
components and non-OE wheels and balancing weights.
NOTE: The OE 18 in. wheels may need to be rebalanced
with the weights placed behind the wheel spokes to provide
required clearance.

Wow I actually realized what the OP was asking... Yes 17's will work with OEM F-Sport brakes. If Aftermarket, it wont work
