South Florida Lexus Drive Event for RC F
I just got back from the drive event and have many opinions to share.
First I went to the race track to test drive the RC F and after the BMW M4. The RC F handles really well. It is a little bit softer than the M4. The M4 suspension is rough and feels like it is riding on rails and I am sure if the traction control was off it will be extremely tail happy. You can really feel the torque on the low end and took me couple of seconds to get use to the drive by wire system delay. Also when I floor the M4 from stop there is a little bit of turbo lag. The RC F power is very linear. Lexus did a great job with balancing the power, the suspension, styling, and comfort. M4 wins hands down on brakes.
Second I went to the autocross. I test drove the 435i, C350, A5 S package, RC350F AWD, and RC350F rear wheel. From last to first place. (Short version)
The C350 had major under steer and lack of power. This is definitely out of the picture. 435i handling is nice and softer than M4, but for some reason it is less responsive compare to the 335i. I guess this is due to the weight. 435i have one of the best breaks. RC350F RWD had a tid too much under steer, but over all balance. I am really surprise with the A5's handling and engine responsiveness. A5 breaks are tie with 435i. RC350F AWD handles exceptionally well. If I have a chance to repurchase my IS350F I would get AWD. There is a major difference in autocross and the feel. If it wasn't for better interior and styling of the RC350F it would have tied with the A5.
So now I envy all of you with the IS350F with AWD. Guys please chime in and give me your opinion. Below are some pics.
