In recent times thieves broke into Target's servers and stole thousands of credit card numbers that belonged to their customers. A similar situation happened with Home Depot. These crimes took place from thousands of miles away. So how come you find it difficult to believe that a thief can defeat an RFID lock/ignition when they are standing next to the car? The moment new technology is created there are people who make it their full time job to hack it.

Here's an article for you to read:

Thank you all for your support and input. I am not very confident that the car will be recovered. An insurance adjuster will be investigating as well. I will let you know the outcome.

Sorry about the theft. Could have easily been a tow truck. Your car may be long gone probably in a container on a ship out on the St-Lawrence over to the Atlantic , and overseas. The positive here is in 30 days or so you may be in a new IS.

Hope it works out for you.
