Default From 2014 IS to 2015 IS...

Anyone go from a 2014 IS to a 2015 IS?

If so, what differences have you seen / felt?

Navigation system any faster?
Heated seats any warmer?
MPG's any better?

I hear 2015 F Sports have ventilated seats, but thought the reason the 2014's didn't have them in was due to the foam injected cushioning of the NuLuxe seats; was this not the reason?

And does your passenger side view mirror now automatically dip down in Reverse on F Sports?

Thanks!

The foam injection process was not the reason for leaving ventilation off of the 2014 F Sport seats, as was shown by the availability of this combination outside of North America (and now here for 2015). I believe it was a packaging decision - much like the decision to (still) leave memory seats off of the F Sport.

The side mirrors still only dip down in Reverse on cars with the memory seats, so in North America, this is still not available on the F Sports.

There are no changes that would result in a change to fuel mileage.

I've seen rumors of the heated seats being improved for 2015 F Sports, but nothing official. Likewise, the 2015 navigation system does seem to operate faster, though I've seen no mention of this from Lexus.

I have the 2014 IS250 and we got my girlfriend the 2015 IS250. A couple differences that I've noticed right off the bat:

2015 came with LED fog lights / 2014 came with halogen fog lights
2015 reverse camera lines on the screen move / 2014 reverse camera lines on the screen don't move
2015 center console is a non-scratching surface / 2014 center console scratches easily
2015 seat cooler fan is very silent / 2014 seat cooler fan is noticeably noisy
2015 navigation controls/volume controls are much more responsive / 2014 has that tiny lag

Everything else, including mpg, ride quality, speed, and other things are the exact same as far as I can tell. I'll report back when I find more.

The fact the $49k F-Sport doesn't come with memory seats and/or a left mirror that dips down in reverse blows my mind. Don't Honda Civics have these types of basic options these days?

The heated steering wheel and seats in my 2015 heat up so fast, it's unreal. I've owned a bunch of cars with heated seats and these heat up twice as fast. Now if only I didn't have to fiddle with my seat for 20 minutes after the guy at the car wash moves the seat, that would be great.

Exactly the kind of info I was looking for; thanks!

lol (not really laughing) / wtf.

Not long ago they told me they've restricted the heat so not to cause injury.

1 year later my heated seats still don't work the way they should; bs.

I'm with you - I think our first car with a memory driver seat was our 94 Acura Legend.

This was all covered in the 2015 IS thread, but if anyone wants a refresher, here's the Press Release from Toyota/Lexus that shows the specifications and what changed from 14 to 15.

Note: Changes to the 2015s are in bold.

It's not really a 49k car if people are paying 4-6k less than MSRP OTD. So I can see why Lexus would leave some options out.

This isn't true. You CAN get memory seats and mirror tilt down if you opted for Luxury pkg.

To be fair, his point is that you can't get them with the F Sport package, even if they are available with other packages. In that, he is correct.

I chose to pass on the F Sport package because I wanted features that could not be had with the F Sport.

Others are asking that the F Sport package be able to be combined with an equivalent Luxury package, thereby making F Sports available with memory seats, parking assist, etc. I don't think it's an unreasonable request. It's just not something Lexus offers right now. So in the mean time, you are forced to make a choice between F Sport, or having those luxury features that many find to be desirable.

The flip side would be for me to be upset that I could not get AVS on my non F Sport IS. I just don't think about it anymore. It's the choice I made and I've moved on.

your best bet is to just hold out for a 3rd gen IS-F when it's released. I'm sure you'll be able to get everything from both the Fsport and Luxury versions of the IS and then some goodies from the RC-F. This is my current plan now.

Your logic is flawed; it's a $49k car; MSRP is MSRP.

It should absolutely have a side view mirror that dips down automatically.

It's also a Lexus; no excuse.
