Turn signal relay?
I bought a 2015 IS350 F-sport a few weeks ago and am wanting to swap in LED turn signal bulbs. It looks like the LED blinker relay replacement promises to be the cleanest install option, but I can't seem to find where the turn signal relay is located. I also can't seem to find any diagrams online. Anyone have any ideas?

Instead of dealing with resistors that take up space, waste energy and add complexity under the hood and in the trunk, there's a relay with different internals that keeps the car from having "hyperblink."
ex:

On the 2IS, it looks like the relay was located behind the fuse box in the driver's side foot well. I've seen others located by the steering column. I've briefly taken the bottom trim piece off and looked around the underside of the dash, but haven't seen anything that looks like a flasher relay. Also, I can't seem to find a replacement part on Sewell's website or any wiring diagrams online.
Surely in the year these cars have been out, someone has installed one of these relays.

Alright. Well, this went nowhere.
Before I tear apart the driver's side foot well trying to get to the back of the fuse panel, I'll try one more bump. Has anyone found the blinker relay or found documentation of where it is?

I know this is a long shot, but did you ever find this? I'm looking to convert my 2015 IS 350 F Sport to led turn signals and no one seems to have any clue besides using resistors, which I'd rather not do. Thanks!

According to the repair manual, the Turn Signal and Hazard Warning Light unit is an electronic control module (connectors K3A, K4B) with a speaker and a flasher timing circuit. No thermal flasher relay on the 3IS, sorry. The ECM is part of the combination meter (instrument panel) and is not unit replaceable. If it fails, you replace the entire meter assembly(about $1600 for the base model, $3200 for the F-Sport). Let's hope it doesn't fail outside of warranty, and that your LED mod - if incorrectly done - doesn't fry it.

since about 2005 the vast majority of cars do not use a relay for the turn signals, they use an electronic control system with the 'click' being fed through the speaker system. if it has a canbus or similar network, no relays.

There is a plug n play option with a built in decoder. Is this what you're talking about?

Think I'm gonna go with this option, thanks guys!

I did a 'shrunk resistor' modified on my Sienna flasher relay and it work wonderful. Did similar thing with the Supra's Flasher unit. Suck that it's not doable with the Camry and the IS. On the Camry, instead of using 'load resistor/decoder', I use the existing bulb and used black heat shink tube to cover the bulb. It work well but not the way I want.
I did a good look at the Camry's instrument cluster hoping to find a similar 'shrunk resistor' but couldn't find one. My intention is to modify and hope that the same modification can be use on the IS but there isn't one. So to use LED for signal, either use load resistor/decoder. There is no other way around as of now.
