Chipped paint (causing a little rust) in license plate screw hole - need to worry?
Hi all,
Was detailing my car today - first time taking the rear license plate off so I can give the back a really good scrub. When I was taking the plastic screws off, I had more trouble on one side compared to the other - and found that one hole is fully painted and the other is not.
I already cleaned out the rust using rubbing alcohol, but am concerned about the exposed metal against a plastic/metal screw for winter time.
Q: Anyone has experience with this and how would you deal with it? Silicone spray the hole and not worry about it? or should i spray some clear coat into the hole to create a new coating?
I am also going to get some stainless steel screws as it was really hard to remove the screw.. if the head snaps it will cause much more trouble.
