how the hell is this even possible? are you sure your friend doesn't have the SX? R/Ts are a little out of reach aren't they as they're almost reaching the 400/400 mark?

I don't know if it's just me, but I seem to have this problem with Priuses. Every time I pass one on the highway they decide they want to chase me. I had one chase me up to 100MPH, its a GD hybrid with no *****, and he was still chasing me. I'm just guessing these tree hugging hippies (I apologize if a fellow CL member owns one) just want us to know that , "Yes I look silly in this Prius, but I can go fast too. Eventually..."

I have the complete opposite problem...I have an express pass to drive in the car pool lane and the Prii take great pride in driving slower than the fast lane.

If im getting a 3rd gen is350 is because it looks classy/sporty, small compact, sedan, daily driver. Not looking to race anyone. Wished they would make a isf on with this base model since the booty looks soooo nice.

I feel as if sometimes people do that sort of stuff on purpose. Many of times I would be going on the fast lane about 10 miles over the limit, and I have a either a Prius, Corolla, or Civic get in the fast lane as Im coming up and slow down to about 15 under the limit.

Am I missing something? The 3IS must be a lot slower than the 2IS. My 2IS (350) does 0-60 in under 5 seconds predictably and users have reported times in the low to mid 13's. Name a car that comes close, the only cars I can think of off the top of my head are the Camaro SS and the Mustang GT 5.0, none of those cars are cars I would want to own, but even then, they are marginally faster in a real world scenario. Perhaps it's a 3IS thing, but the 2IS is a very quick car, quicker than all but the higher tier sports cars.

Added weight and new transmission I guess. 2IS quicker than S4 though?

Motor Trend tested the 3IS models and for the RWD IS350 they got 5.6 seconds, and the AWD IS350 a hair faster at 5.3 seconds. So yes, overall, I think you'll find the 3IS to be a bit slower than the 2IS.

found this...maybe motor trend had a bad day? this site just says that numbers are from "credible sources," but i'll fly w/ it:

http://www.zeroto60times.com/vehicle...-60-mph-times/

if you scroll down to about the middle, 2014 is350 f sport 0-60: 4.9 sec/ qtr mile: 13.4 sec. doesn't say if it was rwd or awd

The fastest 3IS times are around 5.3 vs. 4.9 for 2IS. The average times were more like 5.6 for 3IS vs. 5.3 for 2IS. Based on this fact set, it is safe to say the 2IS is about 0.4 seconds faster to 60. AFter driving the 2 back to back, there is no way I would take the 2IS over the 3IS though...handling is like night and day.

I haven't seen any reputable sources get numbers like that on a 3IS but it sure would be nice! Car and Driver got 5.6 seconds on a RWD IS350, and Road & Track got 5.4 out of theirs.

I wonder what drive mode they were in when they tested for 0-60.
