To say Lexus is behind this particular technology among its competitors ( Mercedes, BMW, Audi, etc) is not true. I find what Lexus is behind is the transmission. While the 8-speed in IS 350 RWD is pretty good, look at what the others have offered as standard equipment even for smaller engines.
Lexus is behind in technology. If they don't offer it in the car they simply don't have it.

Lexus needs to let go of their pride and just buy the ZF 8 speed and 9 speed auto transmission for their cars.

What's the piont with a 9 speed gear box? I don't see the need.

I was also interested in installing this convenient piece of equipment and contacted my local dealership in southern California and was notified that unless the vehicle is already equipped with adaptive cruise control, they would not be able to install one. I'm not sure why this is the case though?

I've had adaptive cruise on the Genesis and I don't like it. It brakes too hard and accelerates too slowly. It needs to be optimized. From what I've heard acc is not implemented that well by any car manufacturer. Another one of those "goodies" imo that keep the buying public lusting for more and trading in perfectly good cars at a loss so they can have the latest features that are seldom used once the initial rush wears off.
