Just out of total curiousity, what is the negative with putting it inside the trunk? I would think that to be easier than lifting it up to the roof and it's also protected safely inside. Unless you need the back seat for additional passengers?

There really isn't a negative. Just more time consuming.
Depending on the type of bars you have, fitment will be an issue with closing the trunk etc.
If you have disc brakes, sometimes you'll have to realign or you get rubbing from incorrectly tightening the skewers n such.

High chance of bike wheels/tires scratching your rear bumper.
Hair Line scratches on your trunk when tightening the trunk tack onto the trunk.. Id advise wrapping the bike rack where it meets the paint with microfiber cloth and then tighten.

The only ones I know are the Whispbar which requires drilling and the Thule kit that a member has here.

I would prefer the hitch since I already own a hitch bike rack and I would also like to be able to tow my jet ski.

There is a vehicle fit guide at http://www.saris.com. You can order these on Amazon.

you may garner more responses if you ask a moderator to move this thread from the IS sub-forum to the GS sub-forum.

did you ever find a solution for a hitch? I have a hitch mounted Saris that I had on my BMW and would like to use it for my IS350.

I talked to a few distributors and they said they expect it in the next few months.

I also found this other company making suction cup mounts called SeaSucker. Seems super cool and won't detract from the looks (or fuel economy) when you're not using it.

I may go this route, but the only kicker is it doesn't lock to the roof. I'd hate to go grab some food after riding and somebody pulls my pricey bikes off the roof by releasing the suction cups .

Edit: It looks like they thought of that - they make anchors that attach to the door frame or truck to run a cable lock for just that occasion. I might be picking this up.
I've heard really good things about the Seasucker racks. I'm actually planning to order the two-bike rack for my car in the near future.

Hi, All–

Would this work? http://www.etrailer.com/Trailer-Hitc...leid=201429741

It requires one to remove the exhausts.

Thanks.
