Car was finance .9% interest, no trade in. The price for the car was close to 40k plus tax title, dealer fees (200). So its not an illusion but real numbers.

If you are saying this is IS350 F Sport with ML, NAV, PCS, BSM & AWD that is great deal and maybe the best I've seen on here. Did she had to work hard for it? Did she get any rebates to get to that price? And no, this kind of deal doesn't happen all the time. In fact I would say very rare based on what I read here.

When I was contemplating to lease 335i I was offered 39.5K as a trade for my 3IS (3K miles on odo). MSRP 48,062.

Thanks for this. I've been wondering how much trade-in value dealers would give for these cars. Given how badly dealers seem to lowball, I was expecting something closer to $30k. Then again, I'm in a completely different market so it might be that the trade-in values here are way off from what they are in California or the US in general.

I don't think my offer represents an average trade in value that most dealers in US or in California would be willing to give. In my case BMW dealer wanted to be quite fair (in my mind) so that I would lease their 335i. $30K trade value, however, is very low.

I was offered 38k for my 3is with 500 miles. They basically went with what Lexus would offer since the car was too new. I got the same offer almoet everywhere.

Infiniti offered 41k and I took the bait. But all they did was move some numbers around. If u add it ip, it evens out to 38k.

So basically I lost 9k on a car with 500 miles.

Just curious - why did you trade the IS?

Agreed in Canada, or at least in the Toronto area, forget the purchase deals we've seen from our US counterparts like invoice or even under, then of course trade-in value is also low-balled. Getting $2K off is a chore which is basically knocking off the highly marked-up transport and dealer prep charge .

I visited the BMW dealer to look at the M235i and to get a trade-in value quote for my IS350. They offered $35k, which could probably be pushed up another $2k, if the past has taught me anything. It seems like depreciation "rules" for RWD cars in Canada are completely different due to this stupid country's obsession with AWD.
