Default Cannot get 350F Sport options

I can't find dealer in the metro NY area who will order the car with the luxury/technology package. Without this package I will not buy this car . The Lexus factory has this ridged option list which obliges a buyer to take things he doesn't want and deletes things that are wanted.
I would be willing to travel to pick up a car optioned the way I want it.
It very well may be that the 350's are selling so well that the factory has this take it or leave it attitude-----or that the profit margin is so thin that it doesn't pay for the factory or the dealer to do special orders.
In any case it is a puzzle

The F Sports are not available, even for order, anywhere in the US with those packages.

Yup I wanted to get the F-sport model as well but lack of options turned me to luxury package and the fact that F-sport wasn't even offered in Atomic silver.. just won me over. I'm really enjoying the memory seats feature where it kinda 'ejects' you out when you open the door to exit the vehicle and the leather seats are just so comfortable on a long drive.

There are trade-off's for the FSport, I guess they are going for a price point. The obvious options missing from the FSport made the choice hard - esp the memory seats, auto-wipers that my old car had. Test drive them both though, because in the end, the trade-off's weren't worth not going with the FSport. YMMV, can't go wrong with either, Good luck.

Have you tried to just special order it? I don't see any reason dealers in NY wouldn't do it for you.

I'm glad I'm not the only one in this boat. It's really too bad because this is a great car that is being made less appealing by stupid packaging options.

F-Sport is a trim level. All the current cars are doing this, BMW (Luxury vs Sport vs M-Sport), Audi (Premium vs Prestige), etc... Infiniti and Caddy are no different either.

The car companies try to offer these trim levels so their option packages appeal to specific demographics. The sport lines for the enthusiasts and the luxury lines for people who want heated steering wheels and butt coolers instead of tight suspensions. Is it the best way to do things? Obviously that is in question because no matter the car, some options simply aren't available on certain trims.

I personally find BMW to be the worst offender in its options and price of options. I find Caddy to be the most fair in offering most of its options across its trim levels. But the ATS also goes up to $58k and the CTS goes above $70k so you are also paying for those additional options, they don't come free. But 3.6L also excludes some options its cheaper trim levels offer. Six of one, half a dozen of another.

If you really want the most options for the least money, Hyundai is probably the best.

F-sport is a trim level, perfectly put. Add grill, delete leather seats, can't have everything.
