IS350 F-Sport has same 0-60 as GS350, is that right?

Default IS350 F-Sport has same 0-60 as GS350, is that right?

I am new to the Lexus camp after trading in my Evo X MR for a 2014 IS350, but I am a bit confused by the performance numbers. Is it correct that the IS350 and the GS350 have identical 0-60 times 5.6 seconds?

I honestly think the car has ample performance but it is a bit odd that the heavier GS with the same engine and transmission would have identical performance.

According to Lexus, of the 350 RWD versions:

GS350 - 3795 lbs, 0-60 in 5.7 seconds
IS350 - 3593 lbs, 0-60 in 5.6 seconds

Its odd the GS RWD has better MPG of 29 compared to IS 350 RWD of 28 MPG when the GS is heavier and bigger. Look at Lexus website.

Both IS350 and GS350 use the AA81E 8-Speed with the same gearing ratios 1st - 8th.

AA81E
1st 4.596
2nd 2.724
3rd 1.863
4th 1.464
5th 1.231
6th 1.000
7th 0.824
8th 0.685

The only differences I noted were in the Reverse and Differential Raito Type

IS
Reverse 4.056
Differential Ratio Type 3.133

GS
Reverse 2.176
Differential Ratio Type 2.937

The magazine tests seem to confirm that the IS AND GS RWD both put down 5.6 second runs to 60. I am not sure how that is possible.

I would like to reiterate that I think the IS is great but this is odd.
