Planning to buy a 2014 IS 350 AWD F-Sport this weekend
True car tells me +5k off on a IS 350 AWD F-Sport with Nav/ML, BSM, PCS and Preferred Accessory Package for $45.7k. I'm going to the dealer this weekend, I know the dealer doesn't have the car in stock, do think they would do a dealer swap with a another dealer 200 miles away for a car thats below invoice? If not, it sucks but I'll forgo the the ML system.
Also, I have a 2003 Maxima SE with 114k miles on it with a check engine light as it needs the catalytic converters replaced (Nissan wants 1.4k to fix). The car has been in 2 major accident (about 10k and 9k in damage) already, so I'm wondering if I should 1) Trade it in not repaired 2) Trade it in repaired with generic parts 3) Give the car to charity. I kind of feel either way I'm screwed but I'd like to know which way I'd be least screwed.
I wanted to know if the Lexus Remote starter was worth it as opposed to a DEI/Viper? Also, I can't seem to find a back-up camera with the IS 350 AWD F-Sport, can the dealer install it? Lastly, my current car has a heated steering wheel and those are only available in Canada, so I was wondering if I if I could order it and have it installed by my dealer?

The dealership will still make money by selling a car for invoice. Dealerships get other monies from manufacturers that we, the consumer, will probably never know about.
I think you should persuade the dealer to do the car swap. It is better to get exactly what you want rather then regretting the car you buy.
If they won't do it for invoice, try offering a little extra money. Perhaps 300-500 over invoice?

Donate the Max to charity. The tax write-off may be the best way to get close to what is really worth to you. If the car you want is 200 miles away and on the lot, just negotiate with them and make the deal. Two hundred miles is nothing. I drove over a thousand miles to get my GS. You may be out of luck with the heated steering wheel. I doubt that options available in other markets outside or the US are available to the dealerships. You could possible get it and have someone else do the install. That of course may void warranties. And to me, anything messing with the airbags is a little scary.

Consumer Reports on the 2014 IS250
You might want to read what the December issue of Consumer Reports has to say about the 2014 IS250. "...alas, the IS 250 isn't very sporty, fun to drive, or luxurious. Add in a cramped interior and mediocre fuel economy, and the IS ends up with a road test score of only 52..."
...if you want quicker acceleration, get the IS350...Its powertrain is much more satisfying. Still, it isn't a sporty handler, and it suffers from the same cramped packaging and other demerits of the 250."
It looks to me that Lexus needs to hire half a dozen engineers away from BMW, and give them control of the engineering for the NEXT new IS.

The 2014 IS350 isn't a sporty handler? The handling is the primary reason it's been winning comparison tests in the Enthusiast media. The "cramped" interior also goes along with its sporting aspirations. Nor is it really an issue, and I'm 6'4 240.

I started out wanting new a new GS F Sport, but it felt like I did not have decent head room.
I tried the new IS 350 and loved it. I felt the driver had alot more head room than the GS.
My previous cars were Audi S6, Audi A6 4.2, Jaguar XKR, BMW 540.
This new IS drove as good or better than any past car, and the fit/finish is great.

The pursuit of F
I did 2k BELOW invoice, 48,831 was my MSRP, 44,049 is what I paid (courtesy of Truecar.com) but could get the ML audio or PCS. I got hosed on my Maxima, a whopping $500 trade in value. I'm pretty happy with the car, now if I can only figure out how to get the speed to read in MPH instead of KMPH

It's called the funny money game and every dealer has played it since they started selling cars.

I have my 90k 07 IS 350 with nav and went to check out a new IS 350 F Sport. they offered me 18k for mine and 2k off the 14(with ML) but I ended up deciding against it. Was that a pretty good/bad deal?(I think sticker was 48 for the '14)

BOTH magazines as well as several independent reviewers have stated that the new IS handles better than the BMW 3 series.
