Default GTR to IS350 F sport

hello guys,

I've been lurking on the forum since 2006. was interested in getting 2IS but never happened...
been thru few cars and currently driving Nissan GTR trying to move into 2014 IS350 F sport.
am i crazy making this move?
Got sick of riding this train like (GT-R) ride daily in NYC.
hopefully my IS350 F sport allocation shows up very soon.

always loved Lexus IS since gen 1.

Nothing like you have but I went from a fully loaded G35 coupe to a 3is and honestly this is a way better car for me to daily. Granted it's not on your level of taste/trim. But I've had three Nissans and this makes my third Lexus. Hands down Nissans to me are pure junk!

Nissans may be pure junk, but that GTR is supposed to be a different animal. OP, you selling the GTR and buying 2 IS250's?

unless you drive one, you have no clue how fast GTR is.
it's scary fast, roller coaster ride comfort, and it gets everyone's attention/love.
Loveed how so many driver's on the road respects the car and never tried to race you because of its capabilities.

Maybe I'll get into 3IS ISF once it comes out if 350's power isn't cutting it. but i'm digging the look of 3IS fsport.

eye candy of my current car.

Thats beautiful…. how much are you paying for the GT-R?
i've always wondered how much it would cost in total and monthly wise.

There's no way I would get rid of that GTR for a 3IS. Just keep it and get yourself a more suitable daily driver. I'm sure you can afford a 3IS without getting rid of your GTR.

if you were to finance, you get the idea. sticker on MY2014 is over $100K.
I heard lease numbers go for around $1300-1500/month with $15,000 down payment.

gas MPG avg is about 13mpg mix city/hwy.
insurance is very expensive.

Transmission fluid change is recommended every 18k miles and it costs about $1000.
oil change every 3k miles using synthetic.
brake pads are not so bad, but if u were to change rotors... they will cost about $3-4000.

it's not a cheap car to own and it gets very expensive to own if you were to track the car.

Yup, seen them used with 13k down about $1200 a month its crazy and it seems the higher the price of the car the higher price of performance parts...an exhaust for your vehicle is about 10,500+ easy

I'm not filthy rich or anything.. just hard working guy who loves and enjoys driving/modding cars.
IMO GT-R isn't a suitable car for me. DCT tranny is very harsh, ride is harsh.
and keeping it a garage queen by having another daily is totally not worth it.
car is meant to be driven and use it as much as you can.

here is another car i had previously. G37xS and i miss it so much!

You Sir, have great taste. ISF is probably more suited to a "daily driver" that gets respect.

I would have picked up an IS-F

you wont miss the power from the GT-R and it still has 4 door and comfy ride!

i know exactly how you feel. i sold my 2012 corvette centennial edition Z06 and replacing it with a 2014 IS350 F sport. ill have it next week!

but i know the paranoia and the practicality of a car like that as a daily driver. its not a very good fit and even worse to leave in a garage.
