Default Takada intake. Better MPG in S mode, worse in ECO

Maybe I haven't been driving it properly, but so far twice since installing the intake my MPGs in ECO mode have gone down, barely able to get over 19 MPGs. On the flip side my MPGs in Sport mode have gone up. Before I would have to be nice on the intake to get 18 MPGs. Now with the Takada, even when I get on the throttle a few times, I can get over 20 mpgs on a tank driving in Sport mode. Any idea what that is?

It may be due to the hot air in the engine bay. I would try to modify the Takata into a cold air intake and see how it does.
