Default i know another wheel and tire thread, help needed..

ok so my plan is to buy the Matte Black LFA style wheels found on ebay.
i am a real stickler for speedo accuracy and i am not even going to consider modifying the suspension.
i am also very **** about the tires and how they fit on the rim
so with that said will this tire combo fit?

going with these wheels

19" x 9 in front and 19" x 9.5 rear offset +38 front and +45 rear

now for tires, i have a few complaints with the stock wheel and tire setup. i do not like the way the front tires look so narrow on the rims. i like a little curb protection and have the sidewalls at least even with the rim. it gives the tires a more squared off look.
the factory fronts are 225/40/18
ill be going 265/30/19 i think the extra width will fill out the 19x9 wheel a lot better. also the speedo will be within .4 mph at 70 of the stock size.
the section width is about 1.5 inches wider than stock

on the rear, stock size is 255/35/18
im going to a 315/25/19 that is a lot more tire under the rear of the car, the thing is thats nearly 2 inches wider than the factory section width.

a lot of guys push the limits with rim size, i want to get there with tire size without making the tire any taller than stock.

can any of you share your 19" wheels and what tires did you get? can you post a picture?

Are you sure those wheels come at 9" on the front? I've been looking at Hyper Black finished ones and they are all 8.5" & 9.5".

Also in regards to your comment about factory front tires being narrow for the wheels, do you think 235/40/18 would be a better fit?

Anyways looking forward to seeing your car with these wheels!

your right they are 8.5 in front.
i am starting to wonder if they are going to be too wide im looking at threads on the 2iS form and the rears they run re 275 wide it looks like you could go wider but they are already pretty close to the fender.

I used the wheel calculator that magne provided in one of my thread to determine tire size for these rims. You should take a look at that.

Here is the thread.
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/8203352-post17.html

If I go with these 19" LFA wheels I'm going with the one that has the 38mm and 40mm offsets with below tires.

Winter using stock F Sport Wheels
225/40/18 & 245/40/18

Summer 19" LFA Staggered Hyper Black Wheels with 38mm/40mm offsets
245/35/19 & 275/30/19

Also this is the wheel calculator that magne provided for me.

Update:

Now that you mentioned that factory setup on fronts are too narrow I may go with these. They all have less than 3% speedo error.

Winter using stock F Sport Wheels
235/40/18 & 245/40/18

Summer 19" LFA Staggered Hyper Black Wheels with 38mm/40mm offsets
245/35/19 & 285/30/19

Based on the spec at sewellparts.com 45mm & 50mm

I think you could go with 285/30/19 on the rear.

well heres the real problem, and thanks for the calculator by the way it helps a lot. the first thing i see with the calculator and confirmed here in this thread

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...-wheels-4.html

is the wheels actually push farther out with that offset. it looks like the majority of the additional rim width gets added to the outside so if the tire is much fatter than is pictured here it's going to rub.
so now i need to rethink this.

285 is going to throw the speedo way off! that's not a workable solution for me.

I read that thread to determine that these wheels would work. Guy with White 2IS has offset of 38mm & 38mm. So I think 40mm would work and 45mm would work even better since some of the width will be towards the inside. Reason I'm thinking of 40mm is because magne stated 3IS can handle more width but in the inside may be tighter.

See here.

It's only -2.74%. So when you travel 60 miles it would only show 58.36 miles on your odometer.

i found a solution. im not going to buy anything!

cant seem to find a tire size i am happy with. ill just wait for the car to get here, go to the tire store have them mount up a couple tires with the same rim size and offset and decide what i want to do.
save myself about 2 grand i can use for something else!

ok ive had a little time to cool off and re evaluate the situation. I did a little more research and I need to let you know something that bothers me about the sizes you picked.

first off I like the idea of a 245 in front, and I am pretty confident the computer wont car the rotational speed of the front tires verses the rear will trigger any codes. but something you may not know about the IS that I experienced on the 2007 I had and has also been brought up a few times is the traction control on this car is extremely sensitive. it monitors wheel speed front to rear and if you go with a taller tire in front as you have selected the system is going to see the rears are spinning faster than the front already, this will make the car even more prone to cutting the throttle when it detects wheel spin. I think your going to have more issues with this problem.
after doing a lot of research the best size to go with is a 235/35/19 in front it turns out it is exactly the same revs per mile and same height as the rear being a 275/30/19
so this is the combo I have chosen. I am also leaning towards the centennial DWS tire.
