as much as i like the lexus, and having just come from a 2012 corvette Z06 i think the stingray has a good shot. the initial allocation of 30,000 cars sold out in just 4 days!

The pursuit of F
If the judges see it as I do and pick the vehicle that has made the biggest impact in its segment, hands down the winner is the IS. It came from the back of the pack to the front despite all the skepticism. That is an incredible feat. Combine this with the fact that it is a relatively affordable (and attainable) vehicle, no brainer for me.
Close seconds will be either the Vette or the Impala. The Vette has incredible performance figures, an improved quality interior, and the heritage that comes with it. But the $70K price tag will hurt it on votes. The Impala has all the improvements expected for a full-size car and surprising refinements (powertrain, NVH, decent interior) at an affordable $30K price. Thing against it in my opinion is fun-to-drive aspect and vanilla styling.
The others in the list have either not made a big enough impression/improvement (i.e. Tundra, Corolla) from the prior gen or are too pricey and out of 99% of the population's league (i.e. Jaguar F-Type). Although I have to say the Mazda 3 might up there too since journalists always loved this car for its handling and performance + it's affordable and attainable to the masses... hmmm...
Truck of the Year - the Chevy/GMC pickups hands down with the MDX runner-up.

70k? They start at 51k and the most expensive is 61.8k. My Z51 I'm ordering is only 55k. Hands down the vette will win. The new dash in the vette is a lot nicer than the lfa gauges in the IS also. For the price a corvette is the best bang for buck sports car on the planet.

The pursuit of F
^^^^ 70K for us (unlucky) Canadians. Low 50s in the US this makes it a toss up. But, all depends on the winning criteria the journalists use to pick their winner. If criteria is straight out performance for the buck, then yes the Vette. If criteria is most improved/greatest impact to its segment for which it was reigned for years by the 3-series, usurped after all these years, it will be the IS.
Looks like either way you'll have a winner!

Corvette will win. All that performance and nice interior too now. You think IS gauge is great, take a look at the Stingray gauge! All that and 30 MPG. If I live in a place where you can drive this all year around I would definitely buy this.
