Default Fees on new car purchase

So what are typical fees I would see when purchasing a vehicle? I've negotiated the price on the car but won't have the car for 2-3 months.

If you live in MN and have purchased Lexus vehicle recently from local dealer I would appreciate your input on this.

Do you plan to finance or lease?

Financing would include interest.

Leasing would include a money factor (interest) and a bank fee (aquisition fee).

All figures should include destination and tax, as well as DMV / plate fees / inspection, etc.

Yeah I assumed I would have to pay tax & plate fees. But I was more curious about misc. dealer fees like document fee ect..

My deal includes a $75 'doc' fee.

I've heard some dealers charge upwards of $500 though!?

I'd say anything between $50 and $100 is reasonable.

We just talked car price but never talked about any other fees.

Always talk in out the door price. Forget all the fees or the sales price, all you need to know is total cost.

The dreaded, and most times unavoidable dealer fees. These are the only fees I am aware of in most states. And as mentioned in an earlier post, the fees vary. But consider this, a $500 fee, if financed, costs you approximately an extra $12.00 per month depending on the terms of your loan. So when you are back in the Lexus dealership for any reason, enjoying what they call complimentary internet, danishes, Starbucks branded coffee, and other misc food items and beverages, don't think of it as complimentary. Think of it as items I have already paid for with that extra fee they tack on.
