Ha too ricey? The red interior is what currently gets the most compliments in my car. I am also a huge fan of the red stitching all over including the floor mats themselves...
I currently drive a blk / blk G35 coupe. I know the feeling. Maybe a light gray interior would be an alternative.
The red just sticks out too much. Doesn't match for me.
I also have Black/Black combination now. This combo doesn't really get old at all. Yeah. You have to go with what you are comfortable with. I contemplated choice between black and red interior and I choose red.
Sooo I went to the dealership.
-the car has to be reserved if I want it
-the price is not a compromise at all
AT ALL.

Walked out
They'll probably call you with better offer if you left them your contact info. If they do, don't take it unless they get close to your acceptable price. My first offer I got was $500 off MSRP but my final deal was $3500 off MSRP. I had to go to the dealer two times including the first time when I test drove it. Second time I was there for ~1 hours to submit the special order.
They also increased my trade in by $1000 but in my mind it was still unacceptable so I'm going to try and sell on my own. If I can't for any reason then I still have the option to trade my car in for the agreed price when my car comes in.

You did the right thing. If you can walk out with no deal you are happy with they will have to call you. Sadly you are in my area and these local guys aren't willing to cut prices due to the demand right now. You could try Dallas, San Antonio, Austin via email see if you can make any deals that route. Or just hang tight until December / January.
Most people can't just walk away. I walked out of Northside Lexus and Westside Lexus to see if they would call me with a deal. Never heard back so went to Sterling McCall. All I can get them to do is throw in extras. If I had stronger will power I would wait till December / January.
Yeah, I went to the Austin dealer last weekend to test drive. On Monday I got an email from the sales guy and I asked him what Costco pricing was, since they participate in that plan, and he said for all IS' except F Sports it's $500 over invoice, but for F Sports it's $500 under MSRP, but he left it open to negotiation.
Once I've gotten out of my Tundra lease, I plan on talking to him and I will be patient to the point where if I don't get at least $2k off MSRP I'll walk. Sounds like, based on what I've seen here, I could do even better than that. Since taxes are about $3k...maybe I work on getting an OTD price of MSRP exactly.
