Default Adaptive Cruise Control/Lane Departure Alert -- Missing?

I have an IS 250 with the Luxury Package, and in the user manual it mentions Adaptive Cruise Control and Lane Departure Alert systems, but I don't see the buttons for those. I called my sales guy and he said you can't buy a 2014 IS with those options. Does that sound right?

It is quite possible as here in the Northeast a 250 RWD or AWD is not available with either.

they are available, but only in certain parts of the US. I had to special order mine with the radar cruise. but the LDW is not available on any of the f sport packages.

You can certainly get PCS (Pre Collision System) and DRC (Dynamic Radar Cruise) as an option on the 3IS. It is factory order though - dealers don't order them unless a guest requests them. The reason your owners manual shows the items is because Lexus has to make a general manual that encompasses everything so they can keep the costs down from making multiple manuals. Every book will mention something you may or may not have. To know if you have it or not look at your window sticker

Ah, okay. So while the dealer likely wouldn't have any in stock, you can theoretically order it. Well, I feel a bit cheated, but I guess I kind of understand.

Don't think I'll make the same mistake next time though

^^ Your window sticker should tell you what Packages & Options the IS has installed....

Did they give it to you ??

Yeah, sorry, my topic title is misleading a bit. My real question was about the sales people saying it wasn't available at all, when clearly it's in the manual. And I would have assumed it was part of the luxury package. Guess not though.

Typical answer, usually this is used to deter a guest on a specific vehicle. Dealers want to sell what's on their lot and they want to sell it then and there. They probably told you it wasn't availble so you would choose/settle on a car they had on the lot. If the car desired is not available at their dealer, they usually try to dealer trade with another dealer to get the car you want (assuming they have it). If it's still not available, then you would special order from the factory to get what you want.

But again, PCS with DRC is only a special order option from the factory which is why there are none to begin with. Yes the manuals are a bit misleading but it is what it is

DRC before LDA (which is not available, which is why I never mentioned it) and only talked about PCS and DRC
