Damn, that looks much much better.
No more HUGE *** GAP
Haha and you know what, if the 3IS came out with "properly-designed" headlamps like those, I would've actually considered putting the 3IS in my "dream car list".
P.S.
For those who are good in Photoshop, you can probably do your own chop as well.
Here are some 2IS reference pics that you can use (i.e. the ones below have the integrated LED DRL strip built into the headlamp housing)

I was also shocked by the 3IS headlamps design initially, but now I can well appreciate the sophistication of that design compared to this photoshop by T.Chin.
However, there was an earlier chop of a GS-headlamps in IS body which looked excellent:
I guess in a perfect world, the non F-sport version could have had those "one-piece" headlamps, while the F-sport - the two-piece design. Bumpers are different anyway... But hey, the world is not perfect.

I think the pics in the original post are, frankly, hideous.
The 3IS looks weird without the gap. And I don't know what people are talking about when they say it's ugly - I think it's gorgeous.

At first it looked weird from different angles but I loved the new LED design after looking at it in person. These photoshops to me just confirms how distinctive this design makes the 3IS look and I love it.

Those of you who dont like the front lights have obviously never driven in front nor seen your cars lights at night. They are VERY unique and awesome with the separate LED strip.

Lexus should of stuck to what they do best and that's making refinement in every way. Refined exterior, interior etc etc..
The 2IS still looks very nice 8yrs since its introduction. I guess Lexus has a lot of work to do with the mid life refresh of the 3IS.
