This is the 2nd major mag to crown the IS #1. This is huge. Its great to see the press recognize the great strides Lexus has made in the driving experience. Looking at the scores it wasn't close. Wow.

I know!!! The win is by a clear margin. And look at the score on Exterior Styling. So much for controversy...
Lexus now has it all. RELIABILITY and PERFORMANCE. This is an unstoppable force.

Very nice!!! They should have mentioned the gauge cluster is taken from the Lexus LFA. I am surprised they did not since nearly everyone knows.

Can you please put the numbers?? What did they look like?? Thanks.

The pic shows them if you scroll to the right. If you're on the mobile CL app, they're 42.5 (IS) vs 38.5 (3) vs 35 (ATS) vs 32 (Q50).

They're all excellent cars, consumers have never had a better selection - this goes for any automotive segment

Interesting that the Lexus is the only one to have 4's and up in every category. I'm surprised how poorly the Q50S did. Looks like if they improved their steering/handling, they'd be back in the running though.

0-60 / quarter mile / slalom / braking 60-0:
3: 4.9 s / 13.5 s / 0.87g / 124 ft
ATS: 5.4 s / 14.0 s / 0.89g / 119 ft
Q50: 5.3 s / 13.8 s / 0.86g / 123 ft
IS: 5.4 s / 13.9 s / 0.85g / 126 ft

The IS has the worst tires (Turanza ER 33) (3 has Potenza S001s) which explains the worst (not by much) braking and lateral grip. No surprise on the acceleration with the 3's turbo six...

Yeah but the 2014 IS doesn't have butt coolers and -- you know -- all of that other cool stuff like rain sensing windshield wipers!

I don't get why people are always surprised with the IS "doesn't feel like a traditional Lexus". From since the first generation the IS has been unlike a traditional Lexus. The new one follows that tradition.

Yes and good for you as clearly a cool butt is more important than anything the Fsport (the focus of the test) has to offer.

You see -- you have Jerry West as an avatar -- I'd have Jordan. We're just different types of people.
