If they did take it from another car, dispute the charge. They cant sell a tire as new anymore after its been put on another car, even if its only been driven on the lot. Call corporate if you have to.

Precisely. I believe there are laws against selling used items as new (I'm assuming you asked for a new tire).

We went ahead and called up corporate and explained the whole situation to them. They said they will get back to me in a couple of days.

We called corporate and the only thing they said, was that "We spoke to the service manager at Orange Park Lexus, they have a brand new tires now. If you want you can take it back to them and they can put the new tires on".

Now, this is of course two weeks after they have put a new tire that was taken off from another IS, and paying $400 for it. lol

Time is money. So I said no to the offer, I will not spend another hour or so and go back to the dealer to replace the tire. I thought that was kind of crazy. So, much money Lexus make...the best respond I wanted to hear was telling me-> a check is in the mail for the full amount or at least cover half of the cost of the tire. SOMETHING!!

Very disappointed with corporate.

^ You want a free tire? lol

They replaced it with a "new" tire off another car. This is better since the tires are now pretty much have the same mileage on them. Instead of 3 used tires and 1 brand new one. Which makes everything even for the most part.

I've read a bunch of people slamming all kinds of tires. What I don't hear is specifically why tire X sucks so bad. I have an '07 IS 350 with Turanza ER33s. 255/40s on the back. They were nearly worn out and I had a piece literally come off on a trip, so I HAD to buy Yokohamas (all they had). The rear end now floats around so bad I can't believe it. Just to stay straight in a lane, I have to literally steer it. When I go around a turn I used to be able to lock the steering wheel for a constant radius turn - no dice now. Have to steer the car thru the turn. My front ER 33s lasted 25k miles. Backs over 40k. These tires are not noisy (some say they are??) and kept their balance very well. Why should I change? I am trying to figure that out...I am definitely taking these Yokos back. I do not want to go backwards from the ER33s.

My car had maybe 200 miles on the original tire when it was puncture. YES, I want a new tire. I am willing to pay for a tire, thats not the point. You miss the whole point

What would be better is if you they would of mentioned to me it was coming off from another vehicle. Instead of telling me it was brand new. OH, and a couple of hundred mile difference on the tires would not make a any difference.

Tires are subjective. The auto manufacturers will tell you the OEM tires were what the car was designed to operated optimally using. But that does not always satisfy the many types of drivers we have in this land. As a middle aged guy, I could care less if I can feel every bump, can do a burn out, or hug a curve at X speed. I just want the best riding, quietest, longest life tire out there. I have no brand loyalty. In the end it just ends up being a crap shoot. Our forum friends and the experts are all over the place. But in the end, it usually boils down to a handfull of candidates. From there, just pick a set. That easy, right?
