Yes, while our sound systems sound great, their functionality is poor.

Similarly, each source should not have its own volume setting, where if you're listening to a source loudly, change to another source, forget you were listening to the prior source loudly and switch back to the prior source, you're in for a shock. While there should be an option to lock or fix volume across all sources for those who believe this to be a benefit, I believe it is a step backward, as even with varied volume between sources, going from source to source with a locked or fixed setup will rarely be as drastic as a volume variance as going from one source to another after having been listening to the prior source loudly. Thread I started re. same:

Another problem is that the navigation system doesn't automatically lower the radio volume upon voice guidance instructions, as every other car I've ever had does (Lexus included):

I'm not sure if anyone has mentioned this feature yet but I just discovered it today. This feature is only for those who have navigation system. After you have turned off your IS, the click-mouse will automatically move back to the centre position for the next time you use it. Pretty cool!

That invention was on Shark Tank, it's called Drop Stop. Not sure if Lexus is using that specific one from the inventor. It's available as a standalone product that can be retrofitted into any car.

I started noticing this just yesterday. Not only does it move, but it also seems to retract a little bit. And then when you turn the car back on, it pops back out.

Well they should have patented it then cause someone else has the patent for it.

Strange, but doubt any auto manufacturer has to pay fees for use.

Yeah, this stuff has been around for a long time. Saw some version of it on Gizmodo years ago.

But is it really patent protected, with one company claiming exclusive rights?
