Tesla is a joke. I'll never buy that car. Driving only 300 miles and wait for 5 hours to recharge, that must be a big frustrated.

Unless you're a taxi driver and don't sleep. You charge the car overnight. Next day voila 300 miles without giving a dime to Middle East, that's about full tank range on IS. I'd get Tesla if I can afford one.

^^^^For what it's worth, I'm with dojoman on the Tesla. Moving forward, let's stick to the content of this thread.

On that note, found another interesting discovery while I was installing my spacers and Lexus emblems on the calipers. The F-Sport has "aftermarket" Tokico shocks . What about the non-F-Sport 3IS? Anyone know?

On the topic at hand, another "discovery". On my 2IS, I recall that when you went in manual (S) mode above a minimum speed, the transmission would always set the gear to 4th. That was annoying when you're at highway speed and engine revs unnecessarily.

On the 3IS, the gear is placed in a position that matches the speed so on the highway for instance, it would start in 6th (not 4th). Nice improvement despite the transmission hardware on the 3IS AWD being identical to the 2IS (obviously the software has been updated)
If I'm not mistaken IS 250 has a 6-speed transmission so manual mode drops you two gears to 4th gear and the IS 350 has an 8-speed transmission so manual mode drops you two gears to 6th gear.

just discovered last night that when using the voice recognition button you can say "warmer" or "cooler" and the car will adjust the temperature setting up or down by 1.5 degrees by itself

2IS yes, but not in the 3IS for the 250 6 speed

I migrated from a 1st gen IS300 to a 3rd gen IS250 so practically everything is enhancement -- not sure if this was in the 2nd gen IS but there is a fold of material between the front seats and center console that is a nice touch for those who have lost their keys, sunglasses or cellphones in this area.

Ah yes, nice touch. I believe we had it in the 2IS but was less prominent.

Agreed. In fact, I didn't notice the one in 2IS until I found the folding in 3IS in the showroom and then I went back and was surprised there has actually been one in my 2IS.

Tried that with my car.
Nothing happend with the climate. Tried to view the settings, and no settings for climate. Only phone, nav and music.

Did you have to do anything special to make this work?
Are there any others that have gotten this to work?

Mine does this, hit the voice control button, wait for the beep. Say "Warmer" and it bumps up 4 F degrees. Same with "Cooler", drop the temp by 4F degrees. I usually like smaller increments in temp adjustment, so I just adjust it by hand.

I wonder if the dealer could set it to a two degree incremental change.

Strange. Tried this. But "warmer" became "playing song mother" when my car tried to understand it

Danzig?

Make sure expanded voice commands are turned on. It's turned on by default here. It's under setup, voice. Or you may not have that option in Norway.
