Another VGRS thread
Hey guys, I've been searching and reading up on here for a while and I'm happy to say I'm a CT200h driver, but I'm decided to head over the the IS350 F-Sport.
My dealership here in AZ has a had a hard time finding/convincing dealerships to send over their 350Fsports over to their dealership. I asked for the Black/Red interior combo and apparently those are hard to keep. My CT is red/black interior. I'm changing it up the other way. Hopefully this will help my fiance stop complaining how hot the leather is in AZ. Plus she's been complaining how slow I've been driving in my CT. :-P
Anyways, my dealership told me they had one shipped from Japan to them without the VGRS system. Fast and The Furious joke anyone? The manager "Lexus isn't building them with the VGRS system right now." So I don't know what to make of it. I drove their F sport with the VGRS and I thought it was awesome and it helped made the car graceful, yet responsive when needed. Otherwise it has everything else I asked for the car.
I'm just curious if they're having difficulty with the system or why they're not delivering it with the package. I know the LS had a recall not to long ago. Any thoughts/opinions from you all.
Thanks,
Oh, I made the user name was I was driving a Scion xB 2nd gen and was looking up Sc300 stuff so don't hate. Ha ha.

The VGRS is not a popular option and is extremely hard to find. The same goes with the Dynamic Radar Cruise Control. I would think that you would have to special order to ensure that you get it.

I should clarify that the VGRS is not around because there are no 350 RWD to be found in the eastern region as well. 99% AWD gets sold up here. ML and Dynamic Cruise are extremely rare as well.

OP are you in Tucson?
I've been hearing a lot of the same kind of thing about how currently there's not a whole lot going on with the IS350 F-Sports production-wise and there's a whole lot of weird stuff about how they're building only so many models with certain features on them.

I just got off the phone with the dealer and they said if I want the VGRS I would have to wait four months. This is on the RWD platform. He was saying the first batch of cars were sent out with the package and the next batch is cut back to save money for consumers. I'm thinking they're adding on the package to all of their AWD cars before the winter hits.
My dealership is on the small size compared to the other ones in AZ. I test drove their white/black F-sport RWD with the VGRS and I thought it made the ride smooth. I'll just have to drive them back-to-back when it arrives and have a comparison thread That won't be till the middle of the month. I didn't want to go with the white not because of the color, but because of brake dust and all the haboobs. Oh and black leather sucks in AZ. lol

I'm in Tucson and the pickings are a little slim right now, but since it's still kinda early in the production cycle, I'm sure it'll take a good 6 months before we get a good mix of inventory.
Luckily I'm in no rush to get inside a car right now, but the IS350 F-Sport is making a really solid case for itself.
I think if I were able, I'd like to get a Red/Parchment F-Sport personally..

The only good thing about owning a BMW was the order process. It would take 12 weeks for an order from inception to delivery and they had a special website to track your order with.

There will not be issues with you receiving it. It will just take patience. I ordered my 350 RWD F-Sport on May 17th with the VGRS, Nav/ML, BSM, Rear Sunshade, and Dynamic Cruise. I am still awaiting a build date. My dealer said that the rep will have updates for me on Monday. It is not the first time hearing this. Lexus corporate is horrible with providing information on orders. It appears that Lexus builds a special order when they are running a whole batch configured the same way.
