2014 IS350 RWD Non-F-Sport Front Brake Pad Dust Problem
#16
1) if you're a weekend mountain/canyon runner, then stick with the f sport brake pads
2) if you're a daily driver with not much of #1, go for the regular IS350 front brake pads for your F Sport
3) if you're doing #2, the simplest fix is go to autozone, buy a pair of their pads (just as good quality), but here is the kicker--you will never have to buy pads again after your first autozone pair! that's right, next time you need to change pads, bring in your old worn autozone pads and they give you a new one. i have yet to do it on the IS as i'm still trying to figure out what pads work best for me/direction i should go for, but i got it for the camry family car and the pads are pretty good.

Left is the 04465-30500 right is the 30450; (went back and bought the other one after I was told they are the same)-clearly they are not. Haven't installed either but by the looks of the inside of the box alone I'm pretty confident 30500 is the high dust model. Just hope the 30450 works with my 06 is350; cause I remember for a while the low dust brake was only for the 350's and the 250's got their own low dust front pads later... if anyone can confirm this is the ISthree50 model before I put these on that'd be great.

Lexus really should warn people about their cool "hi performance" (but does almost no one any real good) f-sport brakes.

My IS350 F Sport (3IS) brake pads were completely worn out at 10,000kms. That's quite short, especially when compared to my previous BMWs (which typically go up to 18,000kms for me). I'm now considering going for an after-market solution.
Anyway, with regards to brake dust, I agree that the amount of brake dust the IS produces is quite annoying. However, you can look at the bright side. Dust means that it's the pads that give way and helps preserve the rotors.

I have a Ultra White F Sport and I've noticing alot of these random orange specs on the cars paint and also some pretty tough to remove black specs, is this due to the brake dust? Does anyone know how I can remove these specs safely?

Google "Industrial Fallout" and you will have your answer. You can also search for it on the detailing forum for ways to remove it from your paint.
