Default Opinions on body side moldings

What do you guys think about the body side moldings? Im sort of OCD about dents, dings, etc as Im sure most of you are. Which is also why Im considering paint protection film. I think it complements the design but would like to see other pics (esp ultra white). Lexus says it "helps retain the vehicles resale value".

Personally, I'm not a fan of the body molding on the IS. I'm also very particular about dent/dings, etc, but I just prefer to park far away and walk than to have to worry about someone hitting my car with their door or shopping cart.

It may protect the door from a ding or two but it messes up the lines if the IS. I'd pass IMHO ??

Ugly. I already had a door ding on my IS and I took it to one of those paintless dent guys. In 20 minutes it was gone and you will never know it was there. 100$

Never a fan of the extra side moulding on the IS and other current Lexus. Actually it ruins the L Finesse design. It makes the sides look too busy and dilutes the impact of the curves below the doors and the rear quarter panels.

Ditto to all the above. Form over function in this case. Park far far away...

I like that! I take pride in being different although I usually prefer subtle differences. Maybe this isnt so subtle. Nobody else seems to care for it...but I would like to see different views/pics.
