Waiting to buy my 3IS
#17
I have put a deposit on a 2014 IS 350 with navigation on June 16 and am still waiting. They told me
that there is a problem with the navigation system and they won't release the car until it is solved.
This problem is nationwide. The only 2014 Lexus IS being sold are ones without nav.

I only have two dealerships in reasonable range out here, so if I decide to get the IS (over the BMW) I'll be expanding my search to a 4-hour drive from here. That should open up all of LA, Bakersfield and Phoenix. (San Diego too if I want to tack on an hour.) If NONE of those dealerships are willing to give me a decent price under MSRP, I'll be waiting.
What I normally do is craft an email stating precisely what car I want (colors, packages, options, accessories) and send it to all the dealerships nearby. I tell them I am sending it to X dealers and I want their lowest, no-haggle price and I'm going to just go with the lowest one. I usually add something to the effect that I'm willing to consider dealerships that have more value-added for the money as well.
This tends to get me great deals and has worked really well for both cars and motorcycles in the past. I would be surprised if, with so many dealerships to choose from, I don't get a good price under MSRP from at least one of them. You may consider doing the same... or just wait a few months if you can because you KNOW they're going to be more willing to deal once the supply catches up to the demand.

Who told you no 2014 IS are being sold with Navi. All the IS vehicles I have seen/sat in have navi. The Atomic Silver I sat in today had navi.

I got my new IS!!! At a great price too!
Cool John, i live in Fremont and work up in SF but I do most of my shopping up in Union City. maybe I'll see your IS one of these days, I still have not seen another on the road.
My IS has the Navi/ML package, but my dealer did mention something around new batch of IS wont have the ML??? Not really sure I understood why.
You can get a good deal now, I got $3500 off MSRP.

I took the tip from Stillhart. Ultimately went with Lexus of Roseville, the sales person was able to give me the best deal based on my specs. In my crafted email to like 20 dealerships, I was specific about what my requirements were, and said I am comparing prices from Roseville all the way down to LA. They said they can do much better than bay area, and they did. PM me if you want more details.
