What it may come down to for me is which color (obsidian or ultra white) he can get me first with the rioja red interior. Hopefully it doesn't take too long because I'm already ooh so anxious!! I am however leaning towards the Obsidian. I'll let you guys know what happens. Thanks again for the feedback and those photos corradoMR2, dstopsie

Hi. If you want any more photos of the car or interior let me know.

Personally I think nothing looks better than a CLEAN black vehicle. My 2IS is black and I love it. I also have a 2nd vehicle that's white, and it looks ALMOST as good BUT has the advantage of being a lot more comfortable in the summer time. There are days that I'm perfectly comfortable in that car with just the windows rolled down while in those same conditions in my black IS, I would need the AC.

I say if you like the LOOK of both equally, go with white for the added comfort. When I purchase my next vehicle it will be a tough choice since I do still give a slight edge in looks to a black car.

I have a Stafire Pearl 2IS and agree that it does, at times, look a little yellow during the day but where this color shines is at night. There is no other color from any manufacturer like it. It radiates with different metallic flakes under street lights.

Here's another. Look at tht finish. You can see the tress from across the street in it. Can't see thst on a white car. This is after I waxed it the week I got it with Blitz Wax. In this pic it was dusty nd needed a wash.

Love the pictures dstopsie! Obsidian is the way to go IMHO. Tinting the windows makes it even better. Thanks again for your advice with Sunshield! I love my car!!

I am so glad you liked Sunshield. Hamid is the best in town and his prices are reasonable and he guarantees his work. Plus he has been in business for 30 years so he's def not a fly by night operation should you have issues with your tint later on.

Your car looks great!! And you are right, tint changes the whole look of the car!!!

Oh and if you decide to do a clear bra, Hamid owns Sticker City across the street and they do that there.

OP is in TX -- waaay too hot for a black car in texas.....go with white, besides black is too hard to keep clean.

I agree with OP that black and white are the best two colors available in the states. It WOULD be a tough choice for me, except that I live in Las Vegas where it's REALLY hot. White is the way to go in this weather, no doubt.

Also, I agree with this whole-heartedly:

I have never had an interest in buying a boring old Lexus until the new IS, but I've always been in lust with Lexus' white. For some reason, no other manufacturer make a white that look like Lexus'.

Obsidian all the way! Nothing beats that black mirror-like finish when it's been waxed!
