Damn.. That's pretty bad. I was getting that exact mileage on my G coupe when one of the ignition coils were shot.

Is the power that bad on IS250? Are you having trouble merging or passing people in the highway? Just trying to get perspective on this.

Looks like I'm averaging 20.8, mostly suburb driving, 35 mph and about 10 traffic lights over a 9 mile commute. Got just over 28 on a run from Seattle to Portland (was quite pleased with that).

Let's see if this link works...

Keep in mind you aren't driving a 4-banger so if you want decent mileage you might want to go with the IS 250 vs the 350.

SF and SJ are both equally congested.

My daily commute is 85 to 87 to 101 and sometimes 237.
Constant stop and go traffic during a morning commute with Carpool lanes active.

I get about 24MPG, IS 350F.
My current mileage is at 1809 on the counter.

I'm pleased to say the least, but I've gotten 26-27 before but that's all highway non stop.
Especially for a vehicle with so much power and requires High Octane Premium only.

20-22 seems to be the max I've seen on this engine with in town driving.

I've been getting a consistent 25-26 MPG on my 350F. Best was 29.4 which was mostly highway from NJ to the Poconos, 177 miles between filling up.

I have about 2860 miles so far and filled up about 10 times.

Fuelly.com is a good website to track your mileage btw.

No, you will not have any trouble passing or merging. The 250 is a powerful enough engine, it's just not as powerful as the 350. People who drive the 350 think the 250 is a weak engine, but it's not as bad as they make it sounds.

Thanks for that info. I've see other gas direct inject engines that are more powerful and get better mileage so little disappointed to hear these MPG overall for both IS engines.

I test drove both, at the dealership and at the Lane Changing Event.
The power between the two were definitely noticeable.
Had it all on Sport Mode for the 250F and 350 Non F.

Having driven each of the 2 at least 5 times, it helped me make my decision.
I considered the CT too, but it didn't have the power I was looking for.
Regardless, it had the best mileage, can't have the best of both worlds.

At this point, I've been pumping on a weekly basis, instead of a biweekly basis with my older vehicle.

Passing while car is in motion is no problem, but from 0 you'll find yourself wanting more power.

Just as Kelvin105 says, wish he had more power and went with the 350, but to each their own.
Mileage isn't that much of a difference, probably 1-5mph which shouldn't detain you.

Wow I had it in eco mode the last tank and I averaged 26.7 on my 250. Which to be honest isnt all that great for a 2.5 liter V6. The new corvettes can get 30mpg with a 6.2Ltr V8 with cylinder deactivation
