Now that people are starting to take delivery, they may be interested in upgrading their differentials (hey, it could happen).

The 3IS IS250 uses the same differential as the 2IS IS250, which means that the complete pumpkin from an IS300 or FR-S is bolt-in for the car if you want an OEM T2 Torsen.

Gear Ratios:

3IS IS250 RWD: 3.73:1
3IS IS250 AWD: 4.10:1

1IS IS300 MT: 3.73:1
1IS IS300 AT: 3.91:1
Scion FR-S: 4.10:1

The 3IS IS350 RWD uses the same differential as the 08-09 IS F among others, as such swapping in a complete 10-13 IS F or 2013 LS460 F-Sport differential is possible, but you may want to keep the 3IS gearing as it is preferential.

Gear Ratios:

3IS IS350 RWD: 3.13:1

2IS IS F / LS460 F-Sport: 2.937:1

The 3IS IS350 AWD uses the same differential as the 2IS IS350. There are no factory options to swap into this, you will need to look into something like a Quaife or similar.

Are they using the same 08-09 IS-F "ELSD" Differential in both the IS350 F-Sport w/8 speed tranny and Regular IS350 w/6speed tranny ???


Being that the 350 F-Sport RWD now has 8 gears.. I thought they would have two different diffos..

I didn't list any AWD info since there are no interchangeable factory LSD's. I only listed RWD information.

AWD IS350's use the same ratio as last year, 3.769:1.

My question was just RWD specific... (no mention of AWD)

Just realized the RWD IS350 Base pkg & F-Sport pkg are both rocking the 8 Speed
(I've only been "reading up" on the F-Sport)

Sorry I didn't see that you had said F-Sport. To confirm what you said, all RWD IS350's have the 8-speed and 3.13:1.

thanks for the info does the 3IS 350 utilize an Elsd ? so theres some benefit for 08/09 ISFs with the 3.13:1 ratio? i remember some people swapped out with a 2IS 350 diff and the benifits werent there.
