I'm thinking you should be able to achieve about the same payment, but with $750 (or less) due at signing. That's based on about a 10% discount (routine in SoCal - can be as much as 15%), plus the 500 lease cash, 64% residual, and .0005 money factor. Sometimes, a color combo being in short supply can hinder the negotiations a bit.

See if you can get all the numbers confirmed and we'll dissect this thing to get you to the deal you want.

A solid $6400 discount incl 500 rebate and reducing the money factor to almost nothing with MSDs got him that great payment.

Reach out to every dealer you are willing to make a trip for. I negotiated via Email for about a month before anyone from a dealer saw me in person.

Impossible to tell with information provided. We don't know what you traded in.
If MSRP was $46272 then invoice was $42806. So assuming the trade was fair, you got about $500 under invoice plus the $1000 college money. Your deal is OK, and probably not bad for your area, but there have been better deals reported in CA.

Traded in '08 camry with 115k miles. KBB range was $8.5K - $10K.

Welcome to the forum and congrats on your new IS.

Like azmojo said, can't really pinpoint the quality of the deal without having all the details of your trade vehicle, but it seems they allowed you a fair trade value. Let me ask this - was the $1k college rebate in addition to the $5.1k discount? If so, you are at 13% off msrp, or about 2600 under invoice which is a pretty good deal. If the 5100 included the college rebate, then you're at 11% off msrp and around 1600 below invoice - still a pretty good deal in my opinion but not quite as sweet.

At any rate, you got yourself a great car at a pretty good price - now it's time to enjoy it!

Just scanned through the forums. In process of purchasing an IS350 F Sport... realized most of you guys are leasing the vehicle rather than buying it... I was going to just buy a used 2014.. maybe a used 2015 if they show up towards the end of the year...

Any advice regarding the lease vs purchase and if I should wait for a 2015? Thank you!

How many miles a year do you drive and how long do you usually keep your cars?
