Sounds like dealers in NJ are similar to those in MN. I'd be ecstatic @ 10% off MSRP here MN! They simply don't need the business when the only two Lexus dealers in the state have the same ownership.........

I got about 10% off msrp. I think that is about the best you can do in my area. I don't think it's possible to get 12-15% off msrp in this area. The dealers just won't go that low. You guys in California are lucky. I went to the largest volume dealer on the east coast which is in nj. If you are in the ny/nj area their ads are everywhere. They had a is350 for 47,688 and I proposed that I would pay all taxes and fees and put down 9 msd's and I asked for $370/ mth. The general manager came over and shook my hand and said "thanks for coming in"....in other words f$@& you...we don't need your business.

The dealership I leased from had a is350 fsport in white and I was able to get them to $397/ mth with 8 msd's. My wife didn't like it in white. If they had it in nebula grey then I would have taken it. I didn't even bother asking any dealers to match that price because I knew they wouldnt.

Maybe once 2016 start rolling into the dealerships then you may be able to do better or wait until the end of the year (December to remember event) but for now those numbers are a great deal in nj.

After looking at my numbers, I think I got soaked but what can ya do? The problem I believe is that I negotiated a good price (I'm thinking) but a $2300 "rental" fee showed up on my invoice (yes I signed it and went through the numbers but it didn't register in my brain so I know I'm responsible )


So new shoppers: make sure you take all the numbers in and probably walk away after your first negotiation.

However, if this is a good deal then forget everything I said

Let me know your thoughts.

Question: do I get that down payment back at the end of my lease? Or, can it be applied to the residual if I purchase the car?

You won't get your $1000 back at the end of the lease - not sure where you got that idea.

If you have funds available you could use multiple security deposits next time to substantially reduce the money factor. Each deposit reduces the money factor by .00008 up to a maximum of 9 deposits. In your case, the money factor would have been reduced to .00018. For around $4000 in deposits, you would have saved most of the $2300 in interest and you get the $4000 back at the end of the lease (pending any excess mileage/damage charges).

I did not take that offer since some current owners of IS350 Fsport got it w/ selling price of 41000 in August and December last year.

I am will be actively looking for Lexus IS350 Fsport in the middle and the end of August as sale managers need to beat the quota. In the worst scenario, I will try again in December.

BTW, we can get Lexus GS350 w/ Navigation only with the same price range. It has same engine and transmission and even weight distribution too.

My current car still running strong as back up one if I never get selling price of 41000.
