I have had both, meaning I had a 2014 IS250 and I have a 2016 IS350 now. The 250 F SPORT was a nice car and it was fun. The 350 I have now is even more fun. I don't think you, OP, would ever say, "wow, I wish I had less power." My 350 was $5K more than the 250 was back in 2014 and I will attest that it's worth every dime.

I agree. I had a 2014 IS250 and I really liked the car. It was an F Sport, white with red guts. It handled well and was a car I was thrilled to have. I was a bit sad to turn it in at the end of the lease.

The day I turned it in, I took delivery of a 2016 IS350 F Sport. It's atomic silver with red guts. I was so in love with the red interior from the 250. Lexus did a lot of things right with the 250, but they did it a little bit better with the 350.

What's crazy is that everyone seems to have money for the F-sport package, but not for the bigger motor. Call me a happy but perplexed owner of a 2014 IS350 RWD non-F.

Because this is what dealers have on their lots, 90% of the IS inventory is F-Sport. So it is really a function
of not what people have money for but where the selection is.

I just bought a new 2016 IS350 F-sport and I have to say it is soo much fun to drive - it's wicked fast, handles like a dream, and buttery smooth. I didn't even bother test driving any of the other trims so I can't give you any comparisons. My only gripe so far is the mediocre gas mileage but this was to be expected! I say go with the 350 for the ultimate driving experience.

MPG is not as horrible as you think on the IS350. On my current tank, I am getting 25.6 MPG. Previous tanks were around 23.5 - 24 MPG. Note that I drive in ECO a lot, and 90% HWY.

Even so, I jump into many used IS250 and IS350s in my Lexus Dealership, and I check their MPGS. the IS250s were AVG around 22 MPG, and IS350s were around 20MPG. The difference is marginal, but it really depends on how you drive.

+1 for IS350
