Lexus is a 24 year old brand in North America. It is well known, people recognize the "L" badge. Lexus has only existed in Japan since late 2005.

Though, Toyota has also been dropping the "TOYOTA" nameplates from many North American models as well though. I think they've been working hard to develop their brand image. People know the brands more and more over here.

this reminds me when i first went to japan back in 2006 and stopped by the lexus dealership. it's an experience you never forget, everyone is so polite and respectful, the place is very clean, and the generous gifts of course. i've since been to tokyo twice but never left narita (stayed at the airport) but i hope to get back to japan before i buy my 2015 IS. business is not the same in japan as it used to be, these days i'm in hong kong and china mostly.
