The shark fin is for XM radio. I believe it is US market only.
And the Canadian market as well. The same shark fin was spotted in the dealership. Speaking of this spark fin, I find it a bit wider and fatter compared to the one on my 2010 RX.

Dang that's LAME! I was going to drive in LA JUST to check it out...lol. Thanks for the heads up. Maybe with the next update, LA will be a "major" city...haha...
The 3D View does work in my Navi here in Los Angeles. I haven't gone to Downtown LA but does work around Hollywood, Beverly Hills. and other places I've gone. Like someone said above you need to be at 300 feet and change the compass view as well to make it 3D.
I have mine on the 3D view all of the time. I noticed the buildings that mostly show up as 3D are the one's that are well known/landmarks for the most part. For instance, when driving in downtown Long Beach, CA the Long Beach Arena in the NAV actually has the whale paintings/artwork on it (pretty cool!). Still need to do more driving in the Downtown LA/Hollywood area.
