Does anyone know how the F-sport lcd cluster behave in direct sunlight?
Maybe some LFA owner know?
Most navi screens, and stereo screens are impossible to read i direct sunlight.
And the lexus LCD cluster is no different as far as i can see.
Normal cluster have "carved out" numbers and needles, so they are readable i direct sunlight.
I have a growing susposion that this will be a problem with the F-sport IS.
Maybe some LFA owner know?
Most navi screens, and stereo screens are impossible to read i direct sunlight.
And the lexus LCD cluster is no different as far as i can see.
Normal cluster have "carved out" numbers and needles, so they are readable i direct sunlight.
I have a growing susposion that this will be a problem with the F-sport IS.

I'm also concerned about the F-sport LCD cluster in cold weather. Whenever it's -20C to -35C and I turn on my car, it takes a while for the LCDs to warm up enough to actually refresh properly. They take like 5-10s to redraw one frame when that cold.

White looks nice when its new, but a few years down the line white turns to yuck! If not maintained very well.

its thetruthaboutcars.com website... they posted IS F-Sport gauges on fb page and someone asked about sunlight and they said perfectly fine, may have posted picture of both... and also said nav was great, best sun shade they ever saw (they also said it was smaller than BMWs, so it is not like they are some all-positive), they are highly reputable.

i know you were talking about 202, that did have less paint on it due to being non-metalic :-). 209 was metallic and longer lasting while 217 is even more awesome looking.
i had few cars in 202 and then 209... while 202 was darker simply because it wasnt metallic, it lost its shine earlier than 209.
