8 AT (RWD) because I don't get snow where I live. Plus I have an SUV for times we want to take trip to the snow.

Yup, would love the 8AT, but the AWD is a better choice.

8AT RWD. Even though we got snow here in WA, I think a proper winter tires will be better than AWD with summer or all season tires. Cars in the past don't have AWD or traction control, people still make it through, so traction control and winter tire will be more than enough.

RWD + Blizzaks = done!, no need for AWD.

If you're always going on 15% inclines, ok AWD is more justifiable.

20 or more degrees below 0, renders RWD at a more disadvantage, especially if you're on the highway going 100+kph/62+mph, & you hit black ice. You'll be surprised how many vehicles will hit the ditch, imagine days where you hit extremely low temperatures. If it snows, then slushes up or melts & drains away by the next day, than it's fine, but that is not the case here. It would just freeze or sit on the asphalt for days, even weeks if not plowed.

It's been a cold (relatively normal) winter this year, with weeks that stayed 20 degrees below 0.
Unfortunately I like to drive 90+% identical to how I would drive on a hot sunny summer day, so AWD is a safety net, when you got to carve around super slow traffic on snow & ice while going speed limit or slower.

According to a Japanese review on Youtube, the 8 speed autobox on the JDM Crown Athlete is a lot more sportier than the 6 speed autobox of the Crown Royal.

Seeing as this same 8 speed on the Crown Athlete will probably carry over to the 3rd Gen IS350, the 8 speed in the RWD IS350 will be sportier and more fun than the 6 speed.

I prefer RWD as well. It was tough for me to get my 2011 IS350 in RWD once they came out with the 2011 IS350 AWD. I bet when the 3IS is released we'll probably only see the 3IS in AWD here in WA state since you can get the non-F-Sport an F-Sport in AWD for the 3IS.

8AT, no snow here, and hopefully save a little gas cause its starting to get ridiculous here.

It kinda sucks for us here in WA. 90% of 2006-2012 IS250 and about half of 2011-2012 IS350 are AWD. I also have AWD IS250, and I swear that I will never buy a half-arsed AWD sedan again. If I want AWD, I will go WRX/STI.

The 8A with RWD would be nice, but for me up here in the NorthEast I've been driving AWD since 1990 and that's all I see me owning in the future so I voted 6A AWD

I hear you on that. If I really want a 3IS in the future, I might have to look out of state for RWD or run into a sales representative here that will help me order one from out of state. Unless the AWD one is really good or I get some super awesome deal on it. I'll have to wait until I hear reviews on RWD and AWD when the car is out and forum members give feedback on them. I also don't like the wheel gap on Lexus' AWD models. Plus there's the gas consumption too.
