so we can debunk the info of it getting heavier... it is not really exact science, since variation in Euro spec weight is due to equipment, but base can be lighter than before, and it is actually lighter than the heaviest current Euro spec with F-Sport model, as Euro F-Sports were already heavier than normal IS250's.

no manual option kills it for me. if there was a 3.5 manual I would pick this up as soon as it is out. I hope they do bring the new 2.0t they are working on to it and give us a manual option.

I would wager money that a manual will never be available on the 3IS. The manual transmission is heading towards extinction. BMW, Porsche, and others have said they will or already have started to phase out manual transmissions.

Yeah we all wish for a manual IS 350. The last of the 6 MT variants came in the IS 250 (rare) and IS 200d (Europe). Now that IS 300h w/CVT replaces the IS 200d 6MT, the manual transmission Lexus days are about to become a thing of the past.

200d and 220d :-).
UK was only market that took out 220d in Europe... "unfortunately" everyone looks at UK market as "Europe" but the truth is that their configurations and model availability for all of TMC is very different from rest of the Europe.

I took these pics of the IS 200d at the 2010 Paris Motor Show.

IS200d is not the same engine as in IS220d... It is something that was reported by UK media but it is simply not true. Its 2AD-FTV. Output did not drop as it is not the same engine. 2AD-FHV had 177hp too. There were plenty of differences, main one being larger turbo and DCAT emissions system, as well as higher pressure fuel pump/injectors... it gave it more power but also made it sluggish in lower revs as well, and consumption was much higher due to de-NOx system and 5th injector. Not to mention that it used different gearbox as well. Overall, 2AD-FTV is much better engine, but less power.
