And you can put your opinion all you want but I don't see anything in your opinion about the $700 exhaust that I wouldn't label as full on supposition. All of these are made from stainless steel and mandrel bent for maximum flow. I am fully aware that not all exhausts are created equal but the three examples I posted appear to be nicely constructed.

Pretty much I'm bored with this exchange so I'm out. Feel free to buy whatever you want for your cars and I will do the same. Laters.
Yes you made your point. You found 3 examples of cheaply made exhausts with inferior fit and finish. Bravo

I'm optimistic about the new engine as it has more HP , torque , less weight and more fuel efficient This combination could help the new is200t reach 62 miles in about 6.5 sec, which is great. Additionally, the car handle better due to the enhanced weight distribution. The only concerns are bad performance at low RPM , turbo lag and bad exust sound. However these things can be managed by lexus through good tuning and research.

A turbo four is definitely a good option to have. Seems almost everyone is offering one these days. That said, I don't want one in my "luxury" car.

Based on my observation and research I think I have to agreed with OP... First of all, I test drove NX200T two times this year, once with my wife and another time with my friend who has 2014 BMW X3 28i Xdrive. The NX's build quality and handling are no doubt met our expectation, however the engine power left us disappointed. We both agreed that it does not feel like 240 hp and 258 lb/ft of torque. His X3 28i with 240hp and 260 lb/ft of torque (0-60 in 6.5 sec.) feel significant faster and stronger pull in all range of RPM compared with NX. Second of all, lets look at the weight, IS250 = 3461 lb, IS200T = 3538 lb (Yes, IS200T is actually 77 lb heavier than IS250) , and NX200T = 3940 lb. And lets look at the 0-60 mph and 0-100 kph (62mph) time with NX 200T so we can get an ideal how this 200T engine perform on 3940lb of weight. Official 0-60mph claim to be 7.2 second, but most of the videos that I found on Youtube are 1 second slower than official claim.
Third of all, I think the 8-speed transmission will not going to make IS200T faster in 0-60 and 1/4 mile due to gear ratio. The 6- speed can reach 60 mph in second gear (with very aggressive final drive ratio) but the 8-speed needs to shift to 3rd gear in order to reach 60 mph. There are many videos on Youtube you can find that 2IS 350 can reach 60 mph in 4.6 - 5.0 sec and mid 13 in 1/4 mile, but for 3IS 350 the fastest 0-60 I found is Motortrend's test which is 5.4 sec in 0-60 and 14sec in 1/4 mile. Keep in mind that 3IS 350 and 2IS 350's engine are identical and only about 20 lb heavier in curb weight, so the main reason the performance is slower is most likely due to the 8-speed transmission . I am not saying the 8-speed is bad, it shifts faster than 6-speed but the gear ratio aren't for 350 or 200T it is more suitable for RCF and ISF's V8. Lastly, I think the new IS200T 0-60 will be around mid 7 to low 7 based on my observation.

^^ also the 8speed in the is350 doesnt upshift at redline like the 6speed auto does.

It shifts at or around 6200rpm at WOT without manual shifting. I know thats the power peak on chassis dynos, however shifting at peak isnt advantageous to take advantage of gearing where N/A cars can use with more natural power curves.

I come from the 4 cil 2.0T Turbo world. Last car was a VW GLI 2.0 TFSI, tuned to 260HP (stock 200hp) Mainly electronics, decat, exhaust, etc...
Conclusions:
2.0T way faster and the DSG gear is incomparable. BUT
Eventhough the IS250 is slower...and has a 6speed single clutch gearbox...
I hated the turbo lag. Often after leaving corners. Low end torque was rubbish. But the soft feeling of the 2.5L V6 is incomparable....the sound (just with a hot air sucking takeda air intake}, is sooo good. Driving it at high revs is lovely, and ads a a smile to my face anytime I go over +4000RPM.

If speed is what you want...get a turbo. But if you are able to sacrifice some power, for pleasure and feeling, NA engines are the way to go.

Just my opinion.

Wow, here is the news! Identical except 1000 cc of displacement and 100 hp ))

Sorry, mistaken. Read "250" instead "350".

??? No offense but have you ever had an exhaust from Invidia? They are pretty nice. The magnaflow axle back can be had for $600 and you could add an x-pipe for $150 if you wanted.

Regardless the cost to get the IS200T up to snuff would not even be 2 grand if you spent your money the right way. Save your money on a catback that will get you crap for power and spent $400 on a piggy back (hopefully JB1 or Racehip or somebody decent will get one) for lets say 30hp and 60tq and then spend $200 on a downpipe (testpipe) or $400 on a HFC for another 10hp and 20tq and you are done.

The A4 does 0-60 in 5.6 sec and has a 2.0T. Hopefully you guys can find a way to make the is200t a beast. Still at stock of 0-60 in around 6 sec thats not bad.

Never had an Invidia exhaust but there are much better choices out there for sure.

lol I wanted to post so I could add to the discussion here and there. However, after reading your post it made me realise how silly most of the posts are. So I don't care or feel like adding to the disccusion.

well.. not quite sure what Megaman really meant because there was no specific reference. If I were a betting man, I'd wager that his implication is that people who bought the 250 V6 are trying to say that they like the "sound" and the "smoothness" and the "reliability" and basically bagging on the idea of a 4T out of denial and a sort of justification, since the alternative would be to admit that the 200T is a MUCH MUCH better offering than the hilariously underpowered 250.

but that's just my guess....
