Default Power Rear Sunshade

I'm not familiar with this option. Can someone post a photo of what the sunshade looks like. It's not on the website and the dealers I have visited have none.

Quick google search

Might be cheaper to just tint the back of your car.

I have one.. First time I've had a car with power sunshade. It's only useful for people in the back and IMO only useful until you tint your windows. I used it a couple of times when it was new but it's one of those 'whistles' that is very rarely used

Used it before in the 2IS.. the cool thing I like about it is that when you put the car in reverse, the sunshade will automatically go down.

Agreed that its cool to see it automatically move down in reverse and then back up. Can't help but worry about the motor wearing out at some point

I have it on both Lexus vehicles. My wife drives the IS 99% of the time. She fails to use it, says she can't see out of the back window when it is up. It does reduce visibility, but I don't see that as an issue. Who's looking out the back window that much anyway? LOL.

It does help some with keeping the car a little cooler, especially in the summer if you don't have tint.

I have the power rear sunshade in my '14 IS350. I don't find it obstructs visibility in any meaningful way. In fact, it helps cancel out high beams/etc. from arrogant drivers that feel the need to blind everyone on the road.

It automatically goes down when put into reverse, comes back up when back in a forward gear. I'm not worried thanks to warranty, and I've owned other Toyota's where the cool gimmicks still worked after years of use.

I love it and am glad I have it

I have this feature, but have never used it or found a need for me. Unless you're driving when the sun is sitting very low, probably never going to need it.

If you have small kids in rear facing seats, the sunshade does a great job of keeping the sun out of their eyes, but if not I would put it in the "nice but not necessary" category.

Exactly why I need one haha
Used to have a s class so the rear sunshade just makes the car feel "more"
Plus the BSM button looks lonely.
But I was scared it would break hahhaa

I have this power rear sunshade for my 14' IS as well as my previous 2IS. The motor never failed on me in 2IS and I hope it is the same for 14' IS. (though I find the motor for the 14' IS sunshade a tad noisier than the one in 2IS, implying a change of supplier)

Use the sunshade from time to time and I find it useful for rear passengers and to keep the back of the rear headrests from being too exposed under the sun. I love this feature as it helps reducing the sun exposure to the rear facing side of the rear headrests. It helps reducing drying out the leather.

I'm in Phoenix and I think it helps block the heat from the sun a little. Not that I can really tell.

i have this feature but it's more of a creature comfort that's rarely used than something essential.
