iS250 FSport = More Insurance $$ Than My BMW F30
Hey Guys,
Just thought I would create this thread and share how much I pay for my insurance for my 2014 iS250. My 2013 BMW 328i MSport was only $750 for 6 months with the same insurance company and same coverages. I have a clean driving record and 24 years old. I always hear that at age 25 the rates get much better.
My 6 month premium with Esurance is $1,000.00 comp and collision at $500 Ded..
Everywhere else quoted me more $$. Esurance told me that this particular Lexus is just more money to insure in general.
This Japanese car more expensive to ensure than a BMW! Toyota parts are cheaper.
Please feel free to share which insurance company you have and how much you pay for your 6 month premium w/ coverages and deductibles and your age.

Just curious, did you try to get a quote for a 2014 BMW to compare apples to apples? Assume they're about the same $$ value.

Ill give that a shot.. ultimately my 2013 BMW comes out about 9k more in value. Thats a good idea to call and see how much the 2014 F30 328i MSport comes out apples to apples vs the FSport. Maybe that one more year makes the difference and will increase from the 2013 quote?

How old are you? $321.50 for 6 months is unheard of… share your policy coverage details.

Wow you guys are getting some nice rates on insurance. I'm paying $1607 for 6 months. I'm currently under by parents. Age 23, licensed since 17. Its Los Angeles (K-town). Your rates are so much better.

Another big factor affecting insurance premium is location! Average car insurance premiums vary considerably by state for a variety of reasons – including the number of urban areas, traffic conditions, state insurance laws, the percentage of drivers who are uninsured, auto thefts and the number of car insurance companies competing for business. One can not compare the premiums of FL vs. MN! Just like California, Florida probably has a very high rate of uninsured drivers (and we are all paying for them)
