I understand that the factory oem remote start is not available for the 2014 IS with navagation at this time. I went to an authorized viper dealer to have a remote start installed and ran into the same issue that there is no module/software that is compatible with the vehicle. Is there anyone on the forum that was successful installing a remote start on this vehicle? And if so how did you do it?

talk to apexer or kanphoto..apparently they ordered RS from sewell and installed it themselves and did not have any nav issues.. proving the whole cl community and lexus corporation wrong..

I actually emailed sewell and they told me its not compatible.. I have 7 years experience with 12volt electronics ,so If I really wanted to I could install one and lose one of the smart keys, but I would prefer not to.. I will just wait until an aftermarket company provides a keyless bypass module solution.. Also, by glancing through the installation manual it looked like the dealership would have to program the factory remote start even if it was self installed, but I could be wrong on that.

I just purchased a 2014 IS350 f-sport and paid for a remote start. Went to the dealer waited 3 hours for them to install only to find out they are not compatible with my car because of Nav. The service manager said there is no fix and "no plans to correct the problem" The option still shows on the Lexus website. I find this completely unacceptable as I probably would not have purchased this car if they would have told me the option was not available. This is poor communication on the part of Lexus!!

agreed! that's some stupid ***** right there.. but lets admit it, you would have still bought the IS anyways. how do i know? i said the same thing lol.

i just certainly hope you can get a refund on the rs system you bought.

I really want to say "First World Problems" here... you wouldn't have payed $48k for a car because it doesn't have remote start as a feature?

I was looking into this myself and I believe they have Directed Electronics has Xpresskits module with firmware for 2013 GS350 for Remote Start. This may actually work since the vehicles are pretty close to same generation in electronics. I am slowly going over all the plugs from the diagram and seeing if they match up to the 2014 ISx50 and if they look like it is I will be attempting install using this current firmware.
I am an Professional Installer so this is why I am willing to attempt this.

in my IS 350 F Sport and all systems are GO! Viper has updated their software to fix the Lexus issue.
