IS200t/IS300 F-Sport ride comfort
Hello everyone,
i bought a 2017 Lexus IS200t F-Sport from Carvana a couple of days ago, my window to return the car ends tomorrow.
i LOVE the way the F sport looks and the handling, the interior, and everything except for one thing. the ride quality.
now i live in houston the roads here aren’t all that great, and i know the ride quality is the great handling’s price to pay, but i drive a lot of miles daily and it’s just too bumpy.
the F-Sport IS200t or IS300 come with a fixed suspension. and staggered wheels.
there is a Lexus IS300 non-F for sale that is newer, with more options and 10K less miles for a couple of thousands more. i drove a couple of non-f sport models and they didnt handle as well but the ride quality was way better. but i like the f sport a lot better.
things im asking if i can do to my F-Sport to improve ride quality, please let me know what’s possible and what is not. what’s worth it and what’s not.
1) Unstaggering the staggered setup with 225’s all around, that way i could rotate the tires and have to replace them less often (inner tire wear problem)… is it possible to put 225’s instead of the 255’s on the rear?
2) changing some suspension components for a more comfortable setup, please let me know if it’s possible and what i could change.
3) tires with higher tire walls with the unstaggered set up to have more air.
or should i get the IS300 non sport and get a new bumper, grill, digital gauge cluster, and paint the wheels?

first check the tires, the air pressure.

I have. 2016 200t. The ride is just fine. It's a sport sedan, not designed for a cushy ride. What is the issue?
