Hmmm not real sure I like the look of those mats at all. I'm guessing they have to be seen in person to appreciate them, but they just don't seem to work for me. I will say though, that they look a lot better in the second image you posted as opposed to the first one.
I can totally understand your reason for doing so though (if it's to preserve the original mats) as I've done it before.
But now, I just ask the dealer nicely (and they usually oblige) for a spare set of genuine mats - that way I can enjoy genuine mats and still have a fresh set as spares at the same time.
Here in Australia, I'm almost certain, our mats are different to your US mats (unless they've changed in the 3IS here) - ours are the nice plush ones made from what appears to be twisted wool of some type. I'm assuming they're a locally made item and installed at port upon entering the country. I don't know.

Mine came with red stitching as well...
and currently torn between using them or the all weather mats...

I would do the all weather mats !! Just cause they look nice rugged and will protect your carpet ! Then if u go to shows throw the regular mats !! :-)

Worth of red stitched F Sport awd mats, cargo included?
I just got a custom set of mats made. My 3IS AWD F Sport came with the black mats, red stitching, and cargo mat. About how much are these OEM mats worth? I might sell them. Thanks.
