Refinement of materials? yes lacking but to be fair the materials on the 3-Series are also subpar. The refinement in ergonomics and seating position is better, feels more like you're sitting "in" the car rather than "on".
Loads of modern tech. Still surprised there is no internal hard drive

Today I went with buddy to shop for Audi... A4 has some really low end plastics everywhere, its interior is really nothing special... so not sure what competitor has nicer materials than 3IS?

whats the SD slot under the HVAC? For NAV software? It has 2 USB sticks... All I need.

Fair enough, but either way I felt most of the materials in my 2IS are nicer "overall". Maybe I need to step into a GS if I'm so concerned with material quality

Many were critical of how teh white looked in the early relased phontos of the 3IS. Anyone seen the Ultra White in person? I was thinking Ultra White + Rijoa Red but the initial reviews of how the white looked concerned me.
