What's this tube stuck to the backside of dash?

Default What's this tube stuck to the backside of dash?

I was fixing a dash rattle and couldn't for the life of me figure out what this odd tube was, leading to what looked like a louvre/speaker on my dash panel. Anyone? The top pic is the hole in the actual dash, with the tube (looks like white 3/8" wire loom) stuck inside, and the bottom pic is where on the dash cover this tube connects to. What the hell is this?

I think it's cabin temp sensor. Just what I've always assumed.

I'm guessing here, but maybe it has something to do with automatic climate control?

It is in fact for the auto climate control.
